In light of my New Year's resolution to read more this year, I'm really, really glad I'm just a short walk away from the public library. Even so, I'm a little ashamed of myself that I've only just finished my second book of the year, Archer's Goon by DWJ. ^^;
Reaction: as;ldfkj This book. This BOOK. It's definitely being added to my list of books to buy. I had seen halcyonjazz on LJ rec it, but I didn't think I'd love it so much. I should've had more faith in the author who wrote Howl's Moving Castle, but I guess I'm a slow learner. Seriously, I wound up empathizing with practically damn near every character in the story. Except for one or two. That is a very rare thing for me.
I think I'm gonna tackle the Chrestomanci books next. :3
...Wait, I didn't write about the first book I read this year? Hehe, whoops! ^^; I'm too lazy to make a separate post now just for that. Book one of the year was In the Hall of the Dragon King by Stephen Lawhead. Apparently it's the first book of a trilogy. I ended up pulling an all-nighter to finish it after I first started reading it. It was pretty interesting even if the story seemed to be a bit pat and predictable in some places. I think its saving grace was the characters, really. I'm going to check the library for the other two books in the series. I thought the story wrapped up pretty neatly at the end, so I'm wondering what's left to be written about. :D
EDIT: Aaaah, now I want to read Archer's Goon fics!
