Gah! Still trying to work my way through that fight scene, although I'm pretty sure I've figured out how it's going to play out. Now I just need to get the words out of my head and into the word document. Easy, sure.
This weekend has completely kicked my ass; I had to miss karate class yesterday because I felt so horrible when my alarm went off. Whenever I wasn't lying in bed feeling lousy and fighting off whatever virus I've caught, I've been reviewing canon for my NaNo fanfic. I had hoped to be past the fight scene and further into the story by now, but that internal editor of mine has been fighting back. I think I need to duct tape its mouth shut. *grumblegrumblegripe*
In other news, found a neat recipe for chocolate caramel cookies that I tried out last night (brief note: eating fresh cookies at almost midnight while not feeling the greatest may seem like a good idea at first, but you end up feeling even more ill a short while later). They turned out pretty good, but next time I think I'm going to cut the pieces of caramel just a little smaller for my own preference.
Chocolate Caramel Cookies
1 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
2 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
two handfuls of chocolate chips
25 caramels, quartered (or smaller if you like)
Preheat oven to 375F. Cream together the butter, brown and white sugars, egg, and vanilla in a large bowl on medium speed until light and creamy. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to the creamed mixture and mix together with a wooden spoon until well blended. Stir in the caramel pieces and chocolate chips. Drop dough by spoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet and bake for 8 - 12 minutes or until light golden. Let cool for 5 minutes before removing the cookies from the baking sheet and placing on a cooling rack (but don't wait too long or the caramel might harden and stick to the sheet!)
