okobi: bunnies do it better? (tomorrow there'll be sun)
So today I found myself in a grocery store that I usually don't frequent too often, mostly because I'm out of beef and they've always got sales on some good stuff. Except this time I ended up wandering down an aisle I wasn't familiar with because they'd rearranged all their shelves (I hate it when stores do that), and realized that I stumbled on their tea selections. *_*

Considering what a tea whore I am, I think I restrained myself quite well by only buying a few rather than just sweeping one of everything into my cart. I've been looking for a decent lemon black tea for ages since my other store stopped selling my favourite brand, and hopefully I've managed to find one I'll like. Every other lemon tea around town that I've found has been the herbal variety (which tastes a little too astringent for me) rather than a flavoured black tea. I was torn deciding between chocolate mint or vanilla black tea, but ended up going with the vanilla. Vanilla's always been my forever girl, so it was an inevitable choice. But still, chocolate mint. I feel like a kid in an ice cream store!

Nobody's ever had to wonder what to get me for Christmas or birthdays, all they have to do is get me tea and I'm theirs for life. ^_____^

I'm still working on catching up with the One Piece anime. I just got past the Skypiea arc. Funnily enough, I think I like the anime version of the arc over the manga version. Maybe all the fight scenes come across better when they're animated, I dunno.

On the not-so-good news front, my old behemoth of a computer gave up the ghost last week, and I ended up having to cough up the money for a new computer. So yes, I've been forcibly converted to Vista now, after working so long with XP. What turned out to be a nice surprise is that it's not that different to navigate around than XP was (after changing around a few annoying default options, of course). It's just a hell of a lot faster. Still, my wallet is crying in the corner right now. I just wish this kind of expense could've waited until I had a bit more extra to throw around, especially with me still job-hunting.

I had a plan for today. A big plan. Spring cleaning at its finest! So what happens when I turn on the water tap to get started?

Nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nada.

Apparantly somewhere down the street one of the main lines burst earlier this morning and they're working on getting it fixed. So that means no drinking water, no cooking water, no washing water, etc., etc.

It's not all dark clouds on the horizon for me though. I found out a little while ago that I'm due a big tax refund.

I've already got a couple games picked out that I'm going to treat myself to once that money's in my hot little hands. Can you believe that the latest Suikoden game has come out and I didn't even notice??? And it's for the DS too! That's good news for me, since those games tend to be a bit cheaper than PS2 games. :DDDDDD

Other games I've got my eye on are Dragonquest V, Persona 4, and Legacy of Ys.

In the meantime though, I'm slogging away through my pile of unfinished games. Right now FF9 is in the machine. I'm determined to finish it this time (as opposed to playing right up to the final dungeon and then starting something else)!

Also, the latest One Piece chapter almost had me bawwwing at Bon Clay and Luffy. I really hope the poor guy comes out of this okay, but it doesn't seem like he's gonna get through it unscathed, does it? *crosses fingers for her favourite pirate*

Also also, I'm falling more and more in love with Bon Clay's character. Back near the end of the Alabasta arc I would've sworn that we'd seen the last of him, and now here he is again. Someone that obsessed with the nakama ideal seems pretty likely to be joining a certain pirate crew pretty soon, don't you think?

I think chapter 459 of One Piece is quite possibly going to be one of those rare chapters that I can read over and over and still go asfdlkljasdk when I get to the end of it. Just. Oh Brook, you skeletal woobie you. ;; ♥

I haven't been keeping up with One Piece lately, so I figured if I reread Thriller Bark it'd help me get immersed into the canon again. I'd forgotten how easily this series can twist my poor heart around its little finger. One of the things I love most is how stuff from waay waay back in the story can still pop up at the most unlikely moments. Side stories that seem that they were meant to be open-ended turn out to have surpising twists to them a fuckload of chapters down the road. I can't get enough of this kind of storytelling. ♥♥♥

Still snowing btw. XD
