So. Just finished watching the first couple episodes of the Tales of the Abyss anime, and I gotta say that so far so good. Looks like they're being really faithful to the game. There's a few things that were portrayed differently, especially in the first episode. But I don't think it detracted from anything at all; actually, I think it helped things flow together a little better. It makes sense that some things would be a little different; what works in a video game where you have all the time in the world to run around exploring may not necessarily work in a 30-minute episode. Besides, all of that is outweighed by how much they've kept the same ("Enter the amazing Guy!" indeed ♥). The animation's looking oh so pretty and I really really hope it stays consistent like this through the series.

Overall, I'm very impressed. Now I'm really going to have to work at getting further in the game rather than just leveling up, or the anime's going to get past where I currently am and I'll have to hold back on watching the show until I get caught up.

Also, to me Luke seems to come across as a little less whiny than in the game. Maybe that's due to the voice acting? I remember Luke's english voice actor kinda grated on my ears until I got used to it. I wonder if the anime voice actors are the same people that originally did the voices in the game?

Also also, I almost fell out of my chair in delight watching the fight scenes. It's so cool seeing everyone in action like that!

Time to go watch episode four! XD
