NaNo may not be a no-go for me this year after all

Okay.

So.

I've been toying with the idea of trying my hand at NaNo again this year (even though I failed pretty miserably last year). I've been sorta leaning towards not doing it because I couldn't think of anything to write about. Then this morning I woke up with a monster of a plunny. I'm trying to get stuff figured out in my head in some semblance of a mental outline, and it's not looking too bad (even if in the end it comes off as incredibly cheesy once it's written down), but there's some things I keep getting snagged on.

Does anyone know the name of Cloud Strife's mom? Was she even given one?

And also, I can't figure out a decent alias for Cloud. I thought maybe doing the ago-old pun of a play on his name and call him Rayne or something weather-related, but I'm kinda iffy. Any suggestions?

Figures that it'd be names that I'd get hung up on. It always takes me way too long to figure out what to name my characters whenever I play RPGs.

Alrighty, searched around about FF7 just to see if I could find the damn name for Cloud's mom, but apparently she doesn't have a canon name. At least not from what I've been able to find. *headdesks*

So that means I'll have to figure out something to call her. Okay, what sounds like it would be even remotely Nibelheimish? Or would that matter? I mean, her son is named Cloud, after all. Well, at least I figured out an alias for Cloud. I think. Unless I come up with something better before November. Which I probably will.

...Geez, why does it bug me so much that she doesn't have a name? I mean, Ifalna got a name and she only shows up in flashbacks, too. C'mon now, Squeenix. Throw the poor lady a bone and give people something to write on her tombstone. Er, so to speak.

...Oh god, now I'm wondering what happened to her body. Typical. I get writer's block for the better part of god knows how many years and now it drops stuff like this in my lap.
